He was an early adopter of Social Networks like MySpace, Linkedin and Facebook, and is quick to try out new platforms. Don considers himself fortunate to have cut his marketing teeth at AOL and learned from some of the best marketing minds in the business. His former boss is even in the Direct Marketing Association Hall of Fame.

Don is a decorated former Army Captain having served overseas where he honed his leadership skills, decisiveness and a commitment to getting the task done right, the first time. He has always gravitated towards operations and leadership roles, but was quick to jump on opportunities that allowed him to express his creativity. His favorite summer job growing up was working at a golf course because, “the golf was free from quitting time until dark, as long as you walked.”

 

 

Don is an avid reader, world traveler, beer snob and social media junkie. It is a safe bet there is always a 1980′s hair ballad playing in Don’s head – unless Auburn is playing football – and then he’s just in another zone completely.

Don dreamed up Verge Pipe Media one night after reading one too many Dr. Seuss books to his kids. He found the mixture of rhyme, familiarity, colors and a simple message repeated in innovative and fun ways a great parallel to successful social media and online marketing campaigns.

Afterwards, he set out to recruit the best and brightest minds and personalities in social media, public relations, mobile and digital marketing and social media.
