Email has been a hot topic in the Verge Pipe Media office. In our day-to-day, we generally abhor it. Inboxes are constantly full. Student interns take, on average, 1.5-2 days to reply to emails. Clients expect immediate replies. We’ve had several marketing and communications people ask us if we think it’s on its final legs. And yet… email doesn’t seem to be going anywhere (take note Millennials).
Some recent moves that support e-mail’s place in our life: we’ve just secured a new client thanks, in part, to our proposal for a prominent email marketing strategy. Verge Pipe Media is also unrolling our very own email newsletter in the next few weeks (sign up at the bottom of the page)! And then there is Paul Carr, a long-standing skeptic, publicly conveying how e-mail – when used in the right instance, with the right demographic – can be tremendously powerful.
Bottom line: email is a platform, a method of communication like any other. Test it. Use it, if it makes sense. What do you think?!
Century 21 thinks so. The real estate company is one of the first major brands (along with Dunkin Donuts and Mercedes) to jump into the fold with Electronic Art’s SimCity Social game.
