Josh Vandergrift
Josh is a senior at Auburn getting his degree in Radio, Television, and Film. He is a member of the Naval ROTC program, and will be commissioning in May (Go Navy!). Happily engaged, he will also be getting married in May… going to be a busy month. During the fall, weekends are a religious experience for Josh, who may often be found in front of a TV watching Auburn football and the New Orleans Saints. Josh came to VPM to be involved in something that was new and up-coming (social media is where it’s at).
Micah Whitehead is Verge Pipe Media’s poster boy; his good looks and suave personality make the office environment a blissful experience for all. In fact, we keep him around just to smile at the lucky individuals who pass by our window.
We searched high & low and far & wide and eventually found him waiting tables at a little restaurant next door (literally). Micah Whitehead began his journey in beautiful ol’ Auburn, Alabama as an engineering student but, after discovering his true passion for creative communication, switched his major and picked up a minor in marketing for good measure. After spending some time in Silicon Valley working in the industry, he fell in love with the start-up culture, which means our that our hearts beat to the same rhythm: forward-thinking and free-wheeling. His unique mix of passion and experience make for a potent mix of raw imagination that will likely take him far in the social/mobile world of Verge Pipe Media.
Will he succeed? Yes, he will indeed! (98 and 3/4 percent guaranteed).
Jackie Powell
Jackie Powell was born and raised in the small town of Monroeville, Alabama. She spent her high school years staying occupied with the only thing there is to do in a small town – sports. She was born an Auburn fan, and became a freshman at Auburn University in the fall of 2008. While at Auburn, she has been involved in her social sorority as well as Panhellenic. She is now a senior in Radio, Television, and Film, with a minor in Business. Now in her final semester at Auburn, she has found her way to Verge Pipe Media. So far, the experience has been creatively stimulating and hard work, but not without its fun. After graduation she hopes to continue to work in the ever-changing world of social media.
Brittany Gibson
Originally from Brewton, a small town in south Alabama, Brittany has come a long way from peanut farms and cotton fields. After leaving her 11 siblings at home, she decided to make herself a new life (but promised to visit regularly). A lover of the arts, she finally realized that no matter how hard she tries, an artist she is not. Her dedication to the fashion world remains true, so she now pours her imagination into blogging and assembling outfits. She gravitated towards VPM so she could actively use this creativity on a daily basis. She relishes the idea of pushing the limits of the norm. In addition to these pursuits, she is actively involved in PRSSA/PRCA and will graduate with a bachelor’s in Public Relations May 2012.
Elizabeth Weeks
Elizabeth is originally from Charleston, South Carolina, but currently resides in Auburn, Alabama where she is a senior at Auburn University. She will graduate in May 2012 with a degree in Public Relations.
After graduation, Elizabeth will embark on a mission to shrink the size of her bucket list: start her own blog, scuba dive, visit every state in the U.S. and travel the world are a few of her ambitions.
Most of all, Elizabeth would like to pursue a career in Public Relations and has high hopes that the motto, “do what you love and you will never work a day in your life” will hold true.
Morgan Webb is a mid-Atlantic native: D.C. born and bred (and like many suburban Maryland natives, she believes that saying she is from D.C. makes her seem more interesting). An unrelenting competitive streak was present in this one from the beginning. She harbored this spirit on the field, on the court, but most importantly, in the pool. As a competitive swimmer, she learned about the importance of hard work and perseverance. She credits 4:30 am workouts and weeks filled with 30 hours of practice for her belief that if she really works at something, it can be achieved. Nearing the end of her high school experience, Morgan chose to forgo college athletics and decided it was time for her to broaden her horizons.
In college at Auburn University, Morgan studied Mass Communications. She found that her interest in dealing directly with people far exceeded her excitement toward sitting behind a desk all day. Morgan was attracted to VPM’s message and everything that they have sought out to achieve as a company. She hopes to bring a fresh perspective and a hard-working attitude to the already amazing team at VPM. She hopes to soak up everything she can before she tackles life on the other side of college.
Sydney Stewart
Sydney Stewart is a senior at Auburn University studying Public Relations. She comes to Verge Pipe Media with social media experience, having worked to promote different organizations that she holds near and dear to her heart, including Auburn Athletics. Sydney realizes the significant power of social media, and is eager to see its application in business. Verge Pipe Media is a fun and creative company, and Sydney can’t wait to contribute in her own way. She’s excited for all of the events, experiences and possibilities with Verge Pipe Media and beyond!
